About Norway Insider Trading

Norway's stock market is unlike any other in Europe. Oslo Børs is dominated by energy, shipping, and seafood — industries that are deeply cyclical and driven by global commodity prices. When insiders at Equinor, Aker BP, or Mowi are buying shares with their own money, they're making a bet on the direction of oil prices, freight rates, or salmon demand. That kind of signal is hard to get anywhere else.

The Finanstilsynet Regulator

Finanstilsynet (the Financial Supervisory Authority of Norway) oversees insider transaction disclosures for companies listed on Oslo Børs and Euronext Growth Oslo. Norway follows EU MAR regulations through the EEA agreement, requiring insiders to disclose their trades within three business days. Finanstilsynet publishes these notifications publicly, maintaining one of the most transparent disclosure regimes in the Nordics.

What We Track

We monitor Finanstilsynet's insider transaction disclosures daily, capturing every reported insider buy and sell. Each record includes the insider's name and role, company, transaction type, volume, price in NOK, and total value. We filter out options exercises, stock awards, and compensation-related transactions to focus exclusively on real market purchases and sales — the high-conviction signals that matter.

Why Norway Insider Trading Data Matters

Norway's sovereign wealth fund (the world's largest) and its energy-driven economy create a unique investment landscape. Oslo Børs is the go-to exchange for European energy exposure, but it's also home to fast-growing companies in salmon farming, maritime technology, and green hydrogen. Many Norwegian listed companies have concentrated ownership with founder-operators who regularly trade — making insider signals particularly meaningful. When the CEO of an offshore drilling company buys shares during a downturn, that's a conviction signal worth watching.

Companies Covered

We track insider trading activity across Oslo Børs — from OBX index heavyweights like Equinor, DNB, Telenor, Aker BP, and Mowi to the innovative Norwegian mid-caps in shipping, seafood, renewables, and maritime technology where insider signals can be especially meaningful.
