About Italy Insider Trading

Italy has a unique insider transaction landscape. Many of the country's biggest listed companies are family-controlled, which means insider buying and selling carries extra weight — these aren't just executives with stock options, they're often founding families with real skin in the game.

The CONSOB Regulator

CONSOB filings go through eMarketStorage.it, a Drupal-based platform that publishes Internal Dealing notifications as PDFs. The filings are in Italian, using MAR Article 19 notification forms. We automatically translate Italian role titles — Amministratore Delegato becomes CEO, Consigliere di Amministrazione becomes Board Member — so you can read the data without speaking Italian.

What We Track

We monitor eMarketStorage daily, downloading each Internal Dealing PDF and extracting the relevant fields. We specifically filter for share transactions (Azioni) and exclude bonds, derivatives, options, and other instruments that don't represent genuine open-market conviction. The result: only the transactions that tell you something real about what insiders think.

Why Italy Insider Trading Data Matters

Borsa Italiana hosts the FTSE MIB and is home to global leaders in luxury, automotive, energy, and banking. Italy's high concentration of family-controlled companies makes insider data especially meaningful here. When a founding family member is buying shares, that's a signal that comes from decades of intimate knowledge about the business — not a quarterly bonus kicking in.

Companies Covered

We track insider activity across Milan-listed companies — from FTSE MIB names like Eni, Enel, Ferrari, and Intesa Sanpaolo to the family-run mid-caps where insider transactions can be the most telling.
